I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at RAU, my honours in Psychology at The University of Pretoria and my masters in Clinical Psychology at UJ. My master’s dissertation was on “A Father’s Lived Experience of Parenting a Traumatically Brain Injured Child”.

I have worked in all the wards at TARA H. Moross Hospital during my training and community service years.  I have experience in working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of different difficulties. I’ve worked with individuals and in group and family settings. I have also done additional training to work with parents and children under the age of five. My other clinical experience has been at SADAG, Riverfield Lodge neuro-rehabilitation wards, Crescent Clinic Boskruin, and ICAS.

I have worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice since 2011. I was previously based at the Village Medical Centre, Parktown North and Art of Healing, Parkhurst. I currently work from Fairland, close to Johannesburg north-west suburbs like Northcliff, Randburg and Weltevreden Park. I work as an individual therapist, family therapist and group therapist with people of all ages.

In today’s stressful lifestyle I believe therapy can be a useful time out to gather yourself, let off steam, work through things you usually don’t have the time for, and, work on self-growth. It can be difficult to be aware of who we are, how we feel, and understand objectively how we go about our daily lives in order to become all we can be. Therapy can allow us to get to know ourselves, not  who the world wants us to be or what the world has turned us into, but the self that guides all we want to be and the self that guides our intuition. By understanding all these aspects of self and by considering the person as a whole, therapy can help you learn how to negotiate life, let go of things that hinder you and live in a manner which is more conscious of all that is meaningful to you. In this way a person can live life to the full, in a manner that is true to yourself and leaves you feeling fulfilled and constantly growing.

Issues I work with include but are not limited to:

  • Feeling like you need to work through some things to be a better you
  • Depression
  • Postnatal depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar mood disorder
  • Relationship/marriage difficulties
  • Anger management
  • History of abuse
