"The principle aim of psychotherapy is not to transport one to an impossible state of happiness, but to help the client acquire steadfastness and patience in the face of suffering" (C. G. Jung).
There are many reasons why an individual such as yourself are searching for psychological assistance. Some of these reasons could be difficulty adjusting to certain life circumstances or a recent life event, perhaps you feel you are repeating certain patterns in your life or you may be feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Whatever the reason may be, dealing with difficult emotions can leave one feeling overwhelmed, alone or confused. Making the decision to come to therapy can be a difficult process, yet investing in your psychological well being can lead to a more fulfilling and happier life.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). My private practise is based in Fourways. I work from an integrative stance using a predominantly Psychodynamic approach, integrated with Behavioural and Interpersonal psychotherapy models. Through this therapeutic stance the aim is to gain a meaningful understanding of the difficulties you may be faced with as well as a deeper understanding of who you are as an individual. It is through this process that allows one to manage and cope with the difficulties experienced.
In my practice I focus on anxiety, depression, stress/burnout, trauma, substance abuse, adjustments to life events, personality disorders, bereavement and loss, relational difficulties. I work with both adolescents and adults, offering both short and long term psychotherapy to suit the individual needs of my clients.
