Clinical Psychologist

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist practising in Hillcrest. I have been practising since 1996 and work with teenagers, adults and couples. As a psychotherapist I strive to work collaboratively  with my clients and  to be non-judgemental and compassionate. This is in order to create a safe environment for them to share what they are currently finding difficult and distressing in their lives.

We have all learned unhelpful patterns  of relating and ways of coping that are no longer useful to us.  These patterns of coping in turn could be creating symptoms of anxiety, depression and other types of distress. I work with my clients to identify their unhelpful patterns and to open the way for different ways of thinking and feeling about situations, themselves and others.  I try to create the space in sessions to work through these issues and therefore a shift in energy and thinking occurs, distressing symptoms subside and the person is able to engage more fully with life’s challenges again.

I am also a certified Imago Relationship Therapist offering couples skills and insights to  resolve conflict and to restore safety and connection.

My fees are within medical aid rates.

I work in a biopsychosocialspiritual model. My therapeutic approach can be described as integrative utilising psychodynamic, interpersonal and mindfulness based techniques.
