“Life can often feel so lonely. Like our ‘joy-dial’ is turned down, or a heaviness is weighing us down, making it feel almost impossible to feel a real sense of joy and excitement. At times it feels like there’s a tightness in the stomach or like we don’t even know WHAT we actually feel at all!! If this is how you feel, you are not alone – come in and let’s chat.”

Mary has a passion for understanding and managing depression and anxiety. She offers face to face & on-line therapy as well as Unique Nature Therapy Day Retreat experiences (https://mrogerspsychologist.wixsite.com/naturetherapy).

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice in the beautiful little suburb of Kloof, at the Femina Health Centre in KZN. I provide therapy, support, counselling, guidance, coaching and assessment for individuals (women and men), couples, adolescents, children and families dealing with a variety of life issues including:

  • Mental illness
  • Anxiety and depression : taking back control of your life, not allowing stress to control you
  • Dealing with traumatic and difficult life experiences
  • Low self esteem
  • Improving parent/child communication: coping with ‘willful’ children
  • Becoming the person you really want to be – letting go of the past
  • Understanding yourself better
  • Attaining inner peace
  • Improving relationships with others
  • Coping with stressors associated with illness or disability
  • Preparing for death and end of life issues
  • Grieving / coping with loss
  • Dealing with abuse or unhappy childhood experiences from the past
  • Attaining physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing and peace

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach varies according to the specific needs of each client. These therapeutic styles include, but are not limited to Narrative therapy, Emotion focused therapy, solution focused therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Time-limited dynamic psychotherapy.

Mary is a Certified BWRT® Practitioner.
‘BWRT®’ : ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’. BWRT® is a new, highly effective therapy.

It is one of the most exciting developments in psychotherapy as it is a fast-acting and extremely effective way to bring about change within the minimum amount of sessions compared to other therapeutic systems.
