I am a Clinical Psychologist conveniently located at the  Psychology Centre, 25 3rd Avenue, Parktown North, Johannesburg- easily accessible from Sandton, Rosebank, Killarney, Atholl, Illovo, Parkhurst, Linden and surrounds.

I work with individuals, couples and adolescents. I am primarily interested in our relationships and our sense of self in relation to others, oneself and the world. Apart from our interpersonal relationships, our connection to sex, food, money, gambling and other addictions are central to my work. We may sometimes lack internal cohesion leading to difficulties with intimacy, aggression, sexuality and shyness. Ultimately, we are searching for a sense of home and meaning, a place where we can just be ourselves.

My medico-legal work includes the clinical assessment of individuals involved in road accident and medical negligence claims. Typical queries pertain to head injuries and their impact on personality, cognitive functioning and impulse control. The impact of PTSD, depression and the psychology of pain on relational, occupational and financial functioning is also assessed.

For companies whose employees require the tools to deal with the many workplace and health related issues, I offer a variety of workshops. These aim to empower employees to be more productive and motivated in the workplace. Workshops include: resilience, emotional intelligence, dealing with conflict at work and emotional preparation for retirement.

I am also a regular contributor on Radio 702’s “A Word on Psychology” programme dealing with clinical, corporate and topical issues. Podcasts can be accessed via the 702 website.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Individual and couple/marital therapy
