I completed all of my Psychology training at the University of Pretoria. My training has exposed me to a variety of different people with a variety of difficulties. My experience includes working at a Community Clinic in Mamelodi, Weskoppies Psychiactric Hospital, Tara Moross Psychiatric Hospital (Adolescent and Eating Disorder ward), Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital (Psychiatric ward), and Leeuwkop Correctional Centre. When working with clients I prefer a dynamic approach. In this way I try and assist you with thinking about your past, relationships and experiences and integrating them to make sense of current difficulties. I am able to assist those who are interested in learning more about themselves, those who are experiencing specific life or relationship struggles, and those who are living with mental health difficulties. I have a special interest in work with adolescents and individuals with eating disorders, personality disorders and depression.
In therapy we have the freedom to explore our inner world accompanied and guided by a caring therapist. Each therapy process is unique and tailored to you as an individual, taking into account your history, personality, cultural background and current difficulties. The intention in therapy is for you to discover new parts of yourself, alternative ways of thinking about the world or finding appropriate ways to better cope with difficulties. The thought of attending therapy might be scary or intimidating, so please feel free to ask questions and share anxieties. I aim to provide a warm and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable to share and explore things that may be difficult to do elsewhere. Allow yourself the opportunity to explore, to grow and to heal.
