I am a counseling psychologist with a strong background in Christianity. I worked with churches for more than 20 years as a pastor and I decided to train first as a Social Worker and later as a Psychologist. I trained as psychologist because the training I received as a pastor did not prepare me for the number of issues our people are battling with. I worked with Marriage Encounter focusing on strengthening the couple’s relationship and Retroavaille focusing on giving lifeline to struggling couples.
My interest areas include, but are not limited to:
- relationship and marital issues,
- trauma,
- grief/bereavement,
- adjustment problems,
- sexuality,
- self-esteem,
- family or parenting problems,
- stress,
- suicide and
- spiritual counseling.
I do not shy away from working with clients who feel that they have a calling (ukuthwasa) or who are confused when it comes to the world of ancestors.
My approach to therapy is eclectic but I lean more to CBT, PCA and psychodynamic.
Hopefully, the journey of therapy with me will free you and you will be able to be present in your relationships – and be able to deal with whatever problems you face in life.
