I’m a Counselling Psychologist, though trained in Clinical Psychology, I chose to register in Counselling which I feel both suits my personality best and is true to my underlying worldview. I prefer to work with people struggling with everyday challenges, rather than severe pathology. This also underscores my approach to life: facing challenges and a strong belief in people’s ability to heal and grow as individuals. After all, life does not change – we do.
After 20 years in private practice, I have widely extended my studies and skills to work in a broad eclectic paradigm, adapting my approach to specific individuals and their context; these modalities include Psycho-dynamic, Systems, Dream-work, Cognitive-behavioural and Transpersonal.
I strongly believe that as individuals our challenge is to move to greater awareness - to ultimately live more conscious lives. We need courage, especially moral courage, to find meaning. We need support and we need validation – counselling creates this context.
My clientele mostly include children older than 8, teenagers, adults and couples. I offer marriage and divorce counselling, and work-related issues and stress management form a core part of my work.
