I have always known that I wanted to be a psychologist from a very early age so when I went to university I studied a bachelor of Social Sciences degree majoring in Psychology. I then did my honours in Psychology where I passed with a cum laude and did my masters in Counselling Psychology and also obtained a cum laude at this same university.
My hunger for knowledge in the field of psychology was not satisfied so I decided to embark on another journey where I obtained a doctoral degree in Psychology at this same university while I was serving as Lecturer.
I first worked at this university as a University Psychologist for about a year before moving to lecturing. I also worked in part-time private practice providing psychotherapy for mainly adolescents and adults before moving to the Transnet Phelophepa Health train in 2016 till 2019 where I served as the Psychology Clinic Manager.
Here I was managing the running of the Psychology Clinic supervising intern psychologists and post graduate psychology students on community work and the clinical practice of psychology. It is here that I gained a wealth of knowledge in psycho-educational workshop facilitation.
I am passionate about helping individuals gain a more integrated psychological well-being through facilitating and providing an encouraging and supportive space. I prefer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Narrative therapy approaches when I engage with my clients.
