I am a Registered Counsellor, Mindfulness Teacher and TRE Provider, in private practice in Rondebosch, Cape Town.

I offer short-term individual and group psychoeducation, life skills and therapy for adolescents, young adults and adults.

I work in an integrative, person- centered, therapeutic way based on the belief that each of us is intrinsically whole. Although the challenges of life may have separated one from this inner knowledge, through our work together, it is possible to regain a sense of intra- and inter-personal connection, meaning and purpose.

One of the approaches that I use is mindfulness-based therapy. Mindfulness is both an inherent psychological process and a mental discipline of present moment-focused awareness (Kabat-Zinn, 2013). Mindfulness practices incorporated into daily life can contribute to reduced anxiety, stress, sadness and exhaustion and enhanced wellbeing (Williams and Penman, 2011).

An additional modality which I facilitate is tension and trauma release exercises (TRE). TRE is a set of six exercises which is used to invoke the body’s natural neurogenic tremor mechanism to complete a dys-regulated stress response I have found that with regular practice, tremoring promotes a sense of ease, emotional regulation and resilience.

Areas of interest:

  • Stress, Anxiety, and Trauma
  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Life’s challenges and changes
  • Burnout and work-related stress
  • Personal development
  • Mindfulness
