I am an educational psychologist in private practice located in Emmarentia, Johannesburg . From a young age, I have always aspired to help children; energized by their zest for life. I strongly believe that the art of learning, growth and play is lifelong. I am a committed and soulful psychotherapist with a strong belief in the need for social change, educational reform, and individual fulfilment.
I have had the privilege of working with, and learning from, previously disadvantaged children, vulnerable children, and children with special needs. I have assisted children, adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, learning difficulties, behavioural concerns such as ADHD, and suicidal ideations, are just to name a few. I have and thoroughly enjoy helping learners realize their full learning potential, guide them on finding their most suitable career, and assist in the school readiness of the new generation. I particularly enjoy working with children of divorce and blended families.
The framework that I work from is important if we are to see change and that is why I work primarily from a Trans-theoretical Framework, approaching each case systemically. This means that I always consider my client’s willingness for change, bearing in mind that he/she does not function on his or her own but rather within multiple systems. In addition to this, I make use of a variety of therapeutic modalities, embracing an eclectic approach. I enjoy engaging clients narratively. I offer long- and short-term therapy.
I am a punctual, efficient, organized, dedicated, and highly motivated person. I believe that as a nation we are at a crucial point in time where systemic intervention in schools are much needed for the new generation to further themselves as active agents in our community.
