Angela Morton

Life Coach, Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Birth Doula trainer and Mentor

Qualified as a counsellor and life coach at the South African College of Applied Psychology, Angela went on to study hypnotherapy through the National School of Therapeutic Hypnosis and then became a certified Mama Bamba birth doula. She now trains and mentors doulas in Cape Town, Johannesburg and on line .

She has a busy on line practice which includes relationship and one-on-one coaching and counselling.  She also offers perinatal counselling to parents.  This covers pregnancy, birth trauma and baby loss as well as postpartum mood disorders for both parents.

Our belief systems begin before birth and are set by the time we are 4 years old by our parents, teachers and life experiences.  Thereafter they are continually compounded by how we choose to experience life.  Through inner child work, we can start to understand and shift our self limiting beliefs that keep us stuck in our patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us.

Angela believes that where the spirit is willing, the solution is always available through working with the parts of ourselves that we don’t pay enough attention to, through fear or unconsciousness.   If we don’t deal with our emotions, they can manifest physically as illness. With regular attention to what we are feeling and by releasing the negative blocks through therapy, we can live happily and healthily in all areas of our lives.

Angela’s counselling practice is holistically informed and she encourages her clients to look at physical health as well a mental and emotional health.

As a Mama Bamba doula trainer, Angela’s function is to facilitate through teaching student doulas,  positive change in the birth experience for both parents and baby.  This can be pivotal in the baby starting life as feeling “good enough” through healthy attachment.  The bonding experiences at birth have a life-long impact, in determining our early brain development and who we become.

Having recently gone through breast cancer treatment and surgery, she also consults with women who are struggling through this journey and need processing space and holding.

Angela also supports non-binary and trans-gender folk in the counselling and doula roles.

She consults online only, nationally and internationally.
